Ad Pe Charcha has always been about exploring brands, their advertising because of which there is a lot of exposure towards the creative thought process which goes into designing of a particular campaign. Some campaigns make our heart pound, some ask us to spend time with our loved ones while some persuade us to take out time, go out and follow wherever our heart wants to go. And the result of this inspiration is the collaboration between Ad Pe Charcha and The Road Not Taken, bloggers Rishika, Shubhi and Ritupragna decided to try out finger painting for the first time. Here’s Rishika sharing her experience!
Since childhood, I’ve been learning painting. It has always been a passion to grab the brushes, mix colours in the palette and unleash the creativity! So, this is the best of all that I’ve made till date. From pots and flowers to wine glasses and fruits, I’ve always loved being soaked in the process.
One fine day, while scrolling through the internet, I discovered a painting workshop that was happening nearby!
The pond, the fishies and the lotus pods captivated my heart! The beautiful transition that was happening between the greens, the blues and the turquoise immediately reminded me of the clear sea that I had seen in Thailand – the colour changes as you go deep into the sea.
The spark within was there. Just some partners in crime were needed to the fulfill the task. I quickly called up my friends and we booked our tickets.
Independence Brewing Company, which was the venue was an absolute delight! A rating of 4.3 on Google and a 4.1 on Zomato, it was the perfect place to hang out.
Came the day of the event.
I got late, all thanks to Bombay traffic. Thankfully, some more were stuck up, so we started off late.
We were given a blank canvas, a pencil a plate of colours, a small towel and one paint brush for detailing. We began with drawing the pods, the fishies and their shadows.
Till the time we worked with pencil, it was all good.
But now, came the real difficulty! So, we began with making borders of the pod, and then blending and filling up the bottom of the canvas with turquoise.
I had always been weak at shading and blending. And moreover, I wasn’t in practice. So, I felt nervous. However, the guide helped me out with the shading bit.
Oh, forgot to tell you. Our guide, Ms. Niti was a software engineer by profession, who quit her job at Standard Chartered to pursue full time painting. Cool, right? Someone has said the truth, engineers kuch bhi kar sakte hain engineering ke alawa 😉
Here’s the entire process video featuring Shubhi!
And presenting the trio!
Well, as you may see there is a huuuuuugeeeee (exaggerated?) difference between what the actual was and what we made! You will even notice great difference in what we 3 made. However, it is always the case! The guide her had her own interpretation. We have our own interpretation! And that’s why we all have painted our own version of the story.
After doing much of mehnat, we were hungry!
So, we ordered Cheese Shots, Paneer Mini Platter and some Nachos!
And came an end to a beautiful evening spent!
